Tender Description
The works site is located at the mouth of the Whanganui River on the TLB and is accessed from the end of Airport Road, via a well-used track through the sand dunes, thence along South Beach.
The work included in this contract and particular specification is an extension of similar work recently completed up to CH 397 of the South Mole and will see the completion of the restoration of the remaining section of the South Mole from CH 397 to CH 850.
The Contract Works principally comprise:
a. The supply and delivery to site of approximately 25,000 tonnes of armour rock and 1,350m3 of 100 - 300mm rock fill material.
b. The establishment and maintenance, including erosion control measures, of access routes and temporary rock stockpile sites for the duration of the works.
c. The management and/or securing of the works and stockpile sites for the purpose of ensuring the safety of recreational users of the awa and surrounding areas
d. Upgrading a 453mm length of the existing South Mole, at its landward end Approximately CH397 to CH850 to RL2.3m
e. Reinstatement of all disturbed areas.
