Bowen Landfill Leachate Tank Pad Civil Works Package

Whitsunday Regional Council (the Principal) owns and operates the Bowen Landfill (the Site). The Site is located at 908 Peter Delemothe Road, Bowen QLD 4805 (Lot 22 of Plan SP106414) and supports the delivery of waste disposal and resource recovery activities for the townships of Bowen, Merinda, Heronvale and their surrounds. Landfilling and resource recovery activities at the Site are currently undertaken by an external Contractor.

As part of the next stage of development of the Site, the Principal is preparing to install a suitable tank system for long-term containment and management of leachate generated by the next and future engineered waste containment cells planned for the Site.

The Principal is seeking a suitably experienced Contractor to undertake construction of the civil works and structural supports ready to receive the tank structure (tank installation by others). The Principal’s requirements have been developed in the form of a set of General Specifications, Technical Specifications, and Drawings which has been included in this Request for Tender.

A mandatory tender briefing will be held Thursday, 15th January 2026 10.00am, the location of the meeting is Bowen Landfill, 908 Peter Delemothe Road, Bowen QLD 4805 (Lot 22 of Plan SP106414).

N.B. PPE is a requirement to attend this site, at a minimum Hi-Vis long-sleeved shirt, full length pants, steel cap boots and eye protection, it is also recommended to wear sun protection.
