Essential Energy Training Academy

⁠⁠⁠Essential Energy is building a future‑ready workforce through regional training. A new flagship Training Academy in Tamworth will support hands‑on skills to lead NSW’s renewable energy transition.

Project goals

• Deliver a fit‑for‑purpose, 2,000m² training facility that meets Essential Energy’s operational and training requirements
• Design and construct high‑quality simulation labs, workshops and classrooms suitable for specialist energy industry training
• Ensure the facility is future‑ready, allowing flexibility for evolving technologies and training methods
• Achieve a safe, compliant and efficient build, aligned with WHS, environmental and quality standards
• Optimise constructability and value, balancing cost, durability and long‑term operational efficiency
• Support regional economic participation, including local suppliers, trades and workforce where possible
• Complete construction to enable operational readiness for commissioning and training delivery

Scope

Essential Energy is dedicated to bridging the skills gap as part of a suite of initiatives leading the way in the energy transition to renewables. Our mission is to power the workforce of the future through innovative industry-led training that is hands on, inclusive and accessible, fostering job growth in regional, rural and remote NSW.Essential Energy currently offers training at six regionally based locations throughout NSW.In 2027, a new flagship Essential Energy Training Academy is planned for construction in Tamworth. This 2000m2 purpose-built facility will house simulation labs, training workshops and classrooms on a 1.7ha greenfield site, just 10 minutes from Tamworth CBD.Essential Energy is seeking early interest from construction industry groups with the expertise and ability to deliver this regionally significant project.To register as a supplier for Essential Energy, please go to Registration - Verify Email - Supplier Registration and follow the instructions. Essential Energy is inviting suppliers to register for our upcoming EOI Essential Energy Training Academy which is due to be released Mid-April 2026.

To receive the EOI, all suppliers must be registered with Essential Energy, once you have been approved as a supplier, please email becc.blight@essentialenergy.com.au to ensure you are included on the EOI.
