About AIHW and the DAE Program
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is a Commonwealth Government agency with over 38 years of experience in health and welfare data. AIHW produces more than 200 reports annually across 75 topics, supporting better policy and service delivery through high-quality, independent evidence.
To meet growing demand and modernise its data capabilities, AIHW is undertaking a transformation of its data and analytics ecosystem. This includes a hybrid cloud and on-premises platform to improve scalability, automation and integration. The Data and Analytics Ecosystem (DAE) Program will deliver this vision, enabling advanced analytics and organisational change to support AIHW’s strategic goals and improve outcomes for all Australians.
RFQ Purpose
AIHW is issuing this RFQ as the next step in the DAE program, following the RFI 03101 process. The earlier Request for Information (RFI) engaged with industry, refined the scope and specifications, and identified a shortlist of respondents.
This RFQ invites detailed proposals from those shortlisted respondents for products and services that will support the implementation of the DAE program. The primary focus is on establishing the foundational layer of the DAE, known as Core DAE Services (CDS). CDS will provide a modern, scalable alternative to the current Corporate Analytics environment by moving to a cloud-first architecture designed for flexibility and advanced analytics.
The platform is expected to be fully cloud-native, using modern cloud services and infrastructure to ensure scalability, security and future-readiness. Responses will be evaluated against the criteria and process outlined in this document, with the goal of selecting a vendor and solution that delivers best value for money, maintains architectural integrity and supports AIHW’s legislated data and reporting capabilities.
