3. OVERVIEW:
Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council (GLALC) is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in 1984 under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983. Its controlled entities are Gandangara Health Services, Gandangara Transport Services and Marumali.

GLALC’s core objective is to improve, protect, and foster the best interests of all Aboriginal persons within the Council’s area and other persons who are Members of the Council.
Our jurisdiction spans six Local Government Areas in the South West Sydney region, including Liverpool, Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown, Parramatta, Cumberland and the Sutherland Shire.

GLALC currently has over 780 members and provides a number of essential services such as health, transport, housing, managing and protecting our lands and sacred sites, heritage, ecology and land management and engaging with our members and community.

4. TENDER DETAILS:
Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council is seeking to engage the services of a qualified copywriting and media communication specialist with extensive experience working in the not-for-profit sector, and who have a thorough understanding of the requirements and challenges faced by First Peoples and community-led organisations.

5. SCOPE OF SERVICES:
The successful tenderer will be required to create engaging, relevant, and high-quality content that can capture the attention and interest of GLALC’s Members, partners, stakeholders and target audience's, through the effective content development and creation.

The required services will include:
  • • Developing high-quality copywriting for GLALC and its entities to be repurposed across different platforms, including print, media, and social media, with Community impact
  • • Develop cogent arguments that convince the audience to adopt GLAC’s products and services or respond to a call to action
  • • Ensure effective communication through high-quality production and editing
  • • Develop and repurpose content written across GLALC’s different platforms, such as publications, articles, and newsletters
  • • Provide quality content that can be used in grant applications and tender submissions
  • • Reading, reviewing, refreshing, and writing copy for the GLALC website
  • • Interviewing GLALC Board, management, staff, and Community, and writing quality copy based on these interviews
  • • Write copy for GLALC to use in its publications, including Community, Land & Business Plans, and Annual Reports
  • • Conduct, film, and video interviews with Elders and Community Members
  • • Digitise interview video footage for GLALC to use on its multimedia platforms and website
  • • Provide quality production, directing, and oversight of editing
  • • Writing biographies of GLALC Board Members for ACNC reporting and GLALC Annual Reports
  • • Write speeches for media events and key stakeholder engagements
  • • Write copy for GLALC to use in advertising and marketing campaigns
  • • Vignettes for exhibitions

TENDER CONTRACT PERIOD:

The tender is for a 12-month contract with the contract period from 1 February 2026 to 30 January 2027. The contracted hours required are up to 600 hours, that will be averaged across the 12-month contract term.  

6.0 TENDER EVALUATION:
The successful tenderer will require relevant industry qualifications and extensive experience as a copywriter or media communication specialist.
The five key criteria that will be used to assess tenderers are:

        1. Level of Capability (Quality)
        2. Relevant industry experience in copywriting and communications    
        3. Capacity (resources)
        4. Financial (price)
        5. Creativity & Methodology
