The City of Mitcham is committed to delivering sustainable and equitable solutions that support community wellbeing and environmental stewardship. In October 2022, Council declared a Climate Emergency, committing to accelerated action to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, increase local renewable-energy generation, and promote low-emission transport.

Since then, Council has implemented several key initiatives including the Community Renewables Program, the Community Virtual Power Plant, and the Green Energy Plan that now powers Council operations using 100 percent renewable energy. This Request for Proposal (RFP) builds upon these foundations by focusing on expanding the City’s clean-transport infrastructure.
