Tender Description
The specialist reports have identified that the boilers and radiators are at the end of life and due for replacement, along with a number of aged gas heaters.
It is proposed to replace heating with electric heat pumps to all spaces.
An upgrade of the electric infrastructure will be carried out in accordance with the engineer's design and recommendations including raising the supply fuses from 80A to 100A.
The removal of the boilers is to be included along with all redundant heating pipe. The boiler room is lined with asbestos sheet, the safe removal of this is to be included for in this project.
The work will be sequenced so as not to leave the school at risk of not having any heating, as per the following suggested order of work:
- Electrical infrastructure work
- Supply and install heat pumps, commissioning of new systems
- Decommission and removal of the boilers and redundant heaters
- Safe removal of asbestos linings
- Fitting of new linings and make good of walls, floors etc where heaters removed
