Parklets and Street-Side Dining

Our Parklet and Street-Side Dining Program is designed to transform on-street parking spaces into vibrant, accessible public areas for dining, resting, and community connection.

The program is open to local businesses, property owners and community groups. It offers exciting opportunities to enhance Hobart's streetscapes and support local placemaking.

How to apply:

When the EOI Period is open, applicants can apply for Programs One and/or Two using the online form. Each program has the option for a parklet or street-side dining.

The current EOI period is open from 17 November 2025 until 12 December 2025.

While the EOI Period is open, you will be able to apply for:

•  Program One: short-term .
•  Program Two: long-term.

The application must include, at a minimum:

•  Completed application form.

Sketch (or photos) showing the location of the parking space, clearly identifying roads, surrounding businesses, and existing street infrastructure – applies to Programs One and Two.

Sketch showing proposed furniture layout, including dimensions, and any plants/greening proposed – applies to Program Two.

Applicants are encouraged to ask their neighbouring businesses/residents/property owners to submit a Statement of Support:
