Background
NPWS has recently acquired Thurloo Downs, a 437,394-hectare conglomerate of five grazing properties in north-west NSW. The park is extremely remote, located 350 kilometers north-west of Bourke, via Wanaaring, within the Unincorporated NSW local government area, at 8147 Hamilton Gate Road, Wanaaring NSW 2840
Effective staffing is essential to facilitate NPWS service delivery within the park and housing is essential to attracting and retaining staff. There is currently inadequate housing to accommodate the number of staff required at Thurloo Downs. NPWS is therefore looking to engage a suitable contractor for the supply and installation of two prefabricated homes to meet housing requirements.
A three-bedroom house design has been developed for NPWS, and tender documentation is attached to this RFT. The scope of works includes fabrication, transport and installation of prefabricated housing, provision of rainwater supply, connection to bore water supply, provision of standalone solar with back up genset, installation of yard fencing and for one of the two houses, connection to existing electrical supply.
Site clearing, demolition, asbestos removal and bore water infrastructure works will be carried out under separate contracts prior to commencement of housing installation on site.
