Automotive data services procurement 2026

The purpose of this Approach to Market (ATM) is to engage a vendor to provide automotive data regarding the Australian light vehicle market, with reference to the operation of the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard Act 2024 (‘NVES Act’). In particular, the data provided under the procurement will relate to:

• the effectiveness of the NVES Act in reducing CO2 emissions of the Australian light vehicle fleet,

• the impact of the NVES Act on the automotive industry, including fleet analysis by sales, registrations, price movements and impact on CO2 emissions,

• demand related data relating to the impact of the NVES Act on consumers, including total cost of ownership of vehicles,

• technological advancements, including the rate of innovation and adoption of new vehicle technology,

• alignment with international vehicle emissions standards and targets,

• NVES regulatory compliance and enforcement, relating to fines, penalties, and sanctions for non-compliance.

The initial period of the contract is to be for one year, with two subsequent single-year options.

The supply must be provided in accordance with the Statement of Requirement (SoR) in the ATM and subject to the terms and conditions set out in, or referred to, in ATM 10031252

Timeframe for Delivery:

Initial period, 31 December 2025 – 31 December 2026. Option 1, 31 December 2026 – 31 December 2027. Option 2, 31 December 2027 – 31 December 2028.
