Supporting Education in Australia – Western Australia Holocaust Institute's Education Centre

The Australian Government is inviting Holocaust Institute of Western Australia (HIWA) via a restricted process to apply to deliver services under the Program 2.5 Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program from 2025–26 - 2028–29.

The funding will support the Holocaust Institute of Western Australia core business of delivering Holocaust education programs for school children and future generations. These programs will meet high standards and cover the origins of the Holocaust and the roots of antisemitism. Holocaust education is essential for promoting understanding and helping to eliminate hatred, bigotry, and discrimination in our communities.

The objectives of the grant activity are to:

• support HIWA in establishing a sustainable business model to ensure continuous delivery of educational programs
• build the capability of the organisation to operate sustainably when the committed funding expires on 30 June 2029
• support WA HIEC in delivering the Holocaust education programs for Australians to increase awareness and promote social cohesion.

The intended outcomes of the grant activity are:

• for HIWA to continue delivering educational programs and initiatives that promote social cohesion across Australia
• increased public understanding of the Holocaust to foster greater awareness and appreciation of the Jewish community’s history and contributions in Australia
• strengthened support for the Jewish community by fostering a sense of belonging, recognition, and inclusion
• expanded opportunities for engagement and active promotion of social inclusion and cohesion.

To be eligible to receive a grant, you must be the invited organisation and have received an invitation to apply for this grant opportunity.
