Winning & Mixing of 20,000 tons of Material – Urana Screen Pit

Federation Council is an NSW Local Government Council located south of the Murrumbidgee River and abuts the Murray River, west of the regional city of Albury. It covers an area of 5,685 sq kms. The population at the 2021 census was 12,821. The Council was formed in 2016 following the amalgamation of Urana Council and Corowa Council.

The council has 3 main towns of Corowa, Howlong and Mulwala with populations varying from 2000 to 4500. There are also 7 villages that have Council assets. The council is 140kms from north to south and 60kms east to west.

The main administration centre is located in Corowa with a secondary administration centre located in Urana.

Council is responsible to manage 278 km of Regional Roads and 2,034 Local Roads.

Federation Council invites experienced, qualified and accredited contractors to submit a fixed-price quotation for contract material mixing services at the Urana Screen Pit, Urana, NSW.

The scope of work involves the loading, blending, and stockpiling of 20,000 tonnes of pre-existing quarry material to produce a specific 20mm aggregate product, required urgently for civil works projects.

An initial site meeting will be arranged with site superintendent to outline and confirm the works.

The successful Contractor will be responsible for undertaking all necessary work to meet the requirements outlined in this RFQ.

Scope of Works

The Contractor shall supply all necessary mobile plant (e.g., pugmill, loader, ancillary equipment), personnel, fuel, maintenance, and supervision to perform the following tasks:

Mobilisation of all necessary plant and personnel to the Urana Screen Pit site.

Loading and Haulage of the source materials (River Rock and Sand) from their designated locations within the quarry to the blending plant.

Accurate Blending/Mixing of materials according to the specified proportions to produce the final 20mm aggregate product.

Stockpiling the finished 20mm aggregate product in the area designated by the Quarry Manager.

Demobilisation of plant and personnel upon completion of the works.
