Receive 100ML of Recycled Water Plus 50ML Non-Guaranteed Water from the Coonamble Artesian Bore Baths

Background Information

Coonamble Shire Council is in the planning phase of an Artesian Bore Bath on an area of Crown Land between the Racecourse/ Golf Course and the Castlereagh Highway. As a requirement for the Bore bath a reuse of the wastewater is underway. Some water reuse has been identified for the Racecourse and Golf course. But further options are being investigated regarding irrigation of aquiculture, agricultural and/or horticultural crops.

Statement of Requirement – Overview

Council is calling for expression of interests from interested persons to receive excess water from the Artesian Bore bath site. It is estimated that 100ML of water will be available each year. Additionally, there is also a possibility of up to 50ML of water available, which could be supplied, but this would be at Councils discretion.

Respondents will need to consider the following:

• How will the water be transported to your site
•  Will storage be required
•  Use of the water
•  How excess water will be used (an environmental escape may be penalised)
•  Consider how less water supplied will impact operations
•  Contact WaterNSW to ensure that a licence for the water use would be permissible
•  Consider water loss in your calculations (leaks and/or evaporation)
•  Include payment for the supply of water in your EOI proposal

Specifications

As part of the Artesian Bore Bath development, water from the baths will go to a constructed wetland to the South. The size of this wetland is to hold the water for a minimum of 10 days for natural UV treatment from the sun. After the 10-day treatment water can then be reused for irrigation and other purposes. Agreements have already been formed for water reuse on the adjacent Jockey Club and Golf course.

Proposes for excess water outside these agreements is being sort. Applicants are to provide a written response to this EOI, outlining their proposal. Please ensure that each of the issues identified in this EOI is addressed.
