Tender Description
The Langhorne Creek Discovery Trail (LCDT) will be Langhorne Creek’s hero attraction, connecting the region and unlocking opportunities.
The project contains three major elements:
1. Trail infrastructure that consists of a multi-use pathway and interpretive signage providing a way for tourists to navigate a central 2.8km stretch safely and efficiently.
2. Working with industry on the development of saleable tourism products that could include cellar door experiences, bike hire, tours, indigenous experiences, nature-based experiences, and history of the Langhorne Creek region.
3. Marketing the discovery trail.
Alexandrina Council require submissions from skilled and experienced contractors for the delivery of item 1 with an appreciation that the success of items 2 & 3 is wholly dependent on the quality and skilled delivery of item 1. Items 2 & 3 will be managed by Council in parallel and harmony to the project’s delivery.
The maximum budget is $6.4M (Six million and four hundred thousand) (Ex GST) for the entire project including detailed design, all infrastructure and wayfinding.
The contractor must allow for all design and construction services, and Council will enter into an Agreement for these Services with the successful Tenderer.
The project must achieve Practical Completion no later than 31st March 2027.

A briefing session will be held at 11 Cadell Street, Goolwa, South Australia, Australia, 5214 on 10:00 am 16 December 2025.

Attendance at the briefing is a pre-requisite to submission and consideration of a bid.
