Tender Description

Installation of new fire hydrant & hose reels with a 40mm hose reel main as per plan CWE-0029 C2.0 revision B Rectification works on existing lines to include:

 Sewer Line Repairs

  • RPZD Water Backflow Prevention Devices & Replacement of Water Backflow Prevention Devices Sewer Line Repairs - Recently Council located all sewer lines around the Cudgegong Waters Park and identified several sewer lines that require repairs.

Tree Roots

  • There are several points where tree roots have infiltrated the pipe.

Defects with fire main

  • At nearly every intersection of the fire main and the sewer pipe the sewer has been broken and poorly repaired which has created displaced joints that are causing or a likely to cause future blockages.

Water Backflow Prevention Devices

  • Council requires the installation of RPZD water backflow prevention devices to be installed at high-risk locations: at tap near the grease arrestor, the dump point, sewerage pump station, water treatment plant and possibly the sink used for cleaning fish.

Long-Term Sites

  • backflow devices are installed for each site, the type are prone to failure and should be replaced at regular intervals.

Fire Service Line rectification works

  • Installation of approximately 4 (or more if required) isolation valves and locate and repair a leak.

Isolation Valve

  • there is only one isolation valve installed on the fire service and testing indicates that it only shuts down the 2 fire hose reels at the Café, which makes it difficult to locate where the leak may be occurring

Leak

  • Observations have shown that the “jacking pump” is cutting in approximately every 1.5-2hrs. The pump will only cut in to increase pressure at low flows and is set to cut in at around 450kPa and shut off at around 650kPa. Tests indicate that we are losing 20-40l/hr.
