CIS Tender 8 – NEM dispatchable

Tender 8 aims to deliver 16 GWh of dispatchable capacity in the National Electricity Market (NEM).

Tender 8 will be a single stage tender process. Proponents must submit all aspects of their bid at the same time.

The Australian Government released a Market Brief that provides high level information on CIS Tender 8, expected to open for bids late November 2025.

The Market Brief provides indicative information on:

• the single stage tender process
• high level guidance on the tender
• updates to key design elements including aggregated projects and strategic storage.
