Tender Description

The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking proposals from vendors to supply, install, and support a modern, secure, and user-friendly video conferencing system at its new office located at 29 Julius Street, Berrimah NT 0828. The solution must support high-quality video and audio conferencing, be interoperable with common conferencing platforms, and meet the operational requirements of NLC's varied use cases, including communication with remote communities and external stakeholders.

About Northern Land Council

The most important responsibility of the NLC is to consult with traditional landowners and other First Nation peoples with an interest in affected land. Landowners must give informed consent before any action is taken to affect their lands and seas.

The NLC is a Corporate Commonwealth Entity, established pursuant to the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Cth) (the Land Rights Act), the Commonwealth legislation that marked a fundamental shift in the treatment of Aboriginal people's interests in land. The NLC is a representative body under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (Native Title Act) of the Commonwealth and has responsibilities for the lodgment and prosecution of claims by Native Title custodians under that legislation (including for the Tiwi Islands and Groote Eylandt). Under the Land Rights Act, the NLC is responsible for assisting Aboriginal peoples in the Top End of the Northern Territory (NT) to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas.'
