Procurement of a specialist provider to deliver 65+ lean manufacturing audits across regional NSW SMEs, identifying productivity and workforce capability improvements.
Project goals
The Regional Business Improvement Program (RBIP) - Business Audits aims to enhance the productivity, competitiveness and workforce capability of small and medium-sized manufacturers across regional NSW through the delivery of at least 65 on-site lean manufacturing audits.
The project will identify operational inefficiencies, training needs and opportunities for process improvement using lean methodologies tailored to each business. Outcomes will include quantifiable productivity gains, workforce development recommendations and strategic insights to support long-term business resilience and readiness for advanced manufacturing.
The final report will provide the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development with metrics, case studies and costed implementation options to inform future policy and investment decisions.
Scope
The scope is to engage a specialist service provider to deliver at least 65 on-site lean manufacturing audits for small and medium-sized manufacturers across regional NSW.
These audits will assess workforce skills and capabilities, identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements, and recommend tailored lean methodologies. The provider must deliver an outcomes report to the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, detailing quantified improvements, training options, implementation costs and key metrics. Subcontracting is permitted, but partial bids will not be accepted.
A separate process will be run by the department to identify the businesses to be audited.
