Tūparikino Hub – EV Charging Infrastructure Partnership

What we need

NPDC is seeking information regarding experienced providers with the capability and capacity to install, operate and maintain electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at 4-6 designated car parks at the Tuparikino Hub. The Tuparikino Hub is a precinct which will include a new six court indoor arena, the TSB Stadium, the New Plymouth Raceway and Pukekura Park within a central location in Ngamotu/New Plymouth.

Why should you respond?

The Tuparikino Hub represents a significant investment in community wellbeing and recreation for the New Plymouth District. Stage One of the development includes a new indoor arena featuring:

- Six indoor courts supporting a range of sports including netball, basketball, badminton, futsal, volleyball, wheelchair sports, and pickleball.

- Multipurpose and administration spaces for flexible community use.

Located adjacent to the existing TSB Stadium on Rogan Street, approximately 1.5 km from central New Plymouth, the Hub will enhance the districts capacity to host both daily community sport and large-scale events.

As part of the infrastructure upgrade, the project includes the reconfiguration of three existing car parks, increasing total capacity from 318 to 470 car parking spaces. These spaces will serve both the new arena and existing facilities within the Hub precinct.

The facility is expected to operate on weekdays between 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on weekends from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

With an estimated daily visitor volume of 1,000 to 2,000 people, and higher attendance during events and race days, the Hub presents a compelling opportunity to integrate accessible EV charging infrastructure into a high-traffic, community-focused environment.
