Operational and Maintenance Services - South Hedland Landfill Wastewater Treatment Plant

The current requirement is for the Contractor to assume 24 hour/day responsibility for complete mechanical and electrical reliability of the Wastewater Treatment Plant to ensure operational readiness at all times.

Operational readiness means that the plant is available to accept and treat wastewater at any time. Treated water must comply with the requirements of the Guidelines for the Non-potable Uses of Recycled Water in Western Australia (August 2011).

This includes but is not limited to:

• Routine overhauls and repair of pumps (off site), and supply of temporary emergency pumps if required

• Routine calibration, testing and verification of all instrumentation required to operate the plant and to validate the quality of the treated water output

• Remote monitoring to facilitate fault and abnormality detection, as well as process and performance monitoring

• Analysis and provision of information to support future planning of capital expenditure in relation to replacement or repairs for all aspects of the plant with a minimum of 18 months lead-time.
