EOI - Whanganui Hotel - Collaboration

Whanganui District Council invites Expressions of Interest from developers, investors, and hotel operators to deliver a new, high-quality hotel in Whanganui’s CBD.

Whanganui is growing fast — strong visitor numbers, major public investment, and a thriving creative economy have created clear demand for modern 4-star accommodation. The city now needs a hotel that matches its momentum.

Council is seeking partners with the vision and capability to develop a design-led, commercially viable hotel that reflects Whanganui’s UNESCO City of Design status and activates the city centre.

This is not a procurement process — it’s an open invitation to collaborate. Council has land available, supportive planning frameworks, and the flexibility to work with the right development partner.

EOIs close 4pm, 9 December 2025. Shortlisted respondents will be invited to discussions from February 2026.
