Sewer Pump Station Safety Lid Supply & Installation

The contractor shall supplier & install 11x telescopic 4 side safety access covers on the nominated sites as per the attached site-specific drawings (See section 1.2) & schedule.

The scope for telescopic 4 side safety access covers supply & installation is as follows:

• Supply 11x telescopic 4 side safety access covers for each of the listed sites
•  Installation of 11x telescopic 4 side safety access covers
•  Provision of all labour, plant & materials required to complete the project
•  Travel, on cost, insurance & permits
•  Full reinstatement of sites
•  Any temporary wastewater diversions required to complete the project
•  Traffic management if required
•  Confine space if required

Scope exclusion: Any electrical relocation will be conducted by council’s staff.

Please note the following schedules need to be completed in order for this submission to be considered compliant.

1.1 SPECIFICATION OF SERVICES

•  Telescopic sewer covers shall be compliant with AS1657 Handrail/Guideline standards
•  Lightweight ergonomic design with no lift being greater than 20 Kg.
•  Fold up safety grate to provide four-sided access protection, upstand to be 900mm high
•  Safety grates painted in high visibility “safety yellow”.
•  Safety grate design allows access gates to operate independently to enable individual access to one pump at a time whilst still maintaining a four-sided barricade
•  Full aluminium construction for corrosion resistance and longevity.
•  Confined space danger sign affixed to underneath of hatch cover
•  Locking safety catch to hold safety grates at 90 degrees
•  Support struts that lock lids securely upright position
•  Lockable lids in with concealed chamber for padlock
•  Captive seal profile in flexible ABS to eliminate sewer gas egress & prevent ingress of stormwater to well.
•  Flush mounting continuous hinges to prevent trip or falls, easily removable for maintenance
•  Covers designed for heavy vehicular traffic or installation of removable barricades
