Tender Description
As Council’s property holdings and interests are constantly under review as part of an annual budgeting process, it is necessary for Council to dispose or acquire certain property assets when required. In accordance with the Local Government Act 2009 and other relevant legislation, Council requires independent property valuations to assist with matters that pertain to the acquisition/resumption of property for public purposes, disposal of surplus property, leasing of commercial property and also for internal investment decisions.
Council has an established Property Services Branch to provide advice and facilitate property and building asset services to Council. This branch forms part of the Environment and Community Services group of Council. The Property Section of the Property Services branch is responsible for providing core real property services to Council and comprises a team of five staff. When specialised expertise is required, external valuation service providers will be engaged to deliver such services. This will be provided through an established Preferred Supplier Arrangement of Valuation Services providers.
As the Toowoomba region continues to grow, the Property Services branch expects a continuing and increasing need for external Valuation Service providers. This RFO process is to establish a Preferred Supplier Arrangement for Valuation Services under section 233 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.
