ABOUT LIVINGSTONE SHIRE COUNCIL
Nestled between the iconic Great Barrier Reef to the east and the rugged sandstone wilderness to the west, Livingstone Shire is part of the Fitzroy Region in Central Queensland. Covering approximately 11,800 square kilometres along the stunning Capricorn Coast, the Shire encompasses a diverse mix of coastal, rural, and urban landscapes.
The major townships of Yeppoon and Emu Park are home to most of the Shire’s population, while picturesque rural communities such as Byfield, Cawarral, The Caves, Stanage, Marlborough, Glenlee, and Glendale contribute to the region’s unique character and charm.
Livingstone Shire Council serves an increasing population of around 42,000 residents. Key industries driving the local economy include retail, tourism, education and training, health care and social assistance, construction, and agriculture.
SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY
Livingstone Shire Council is seeking responses to this invitation to tender for experienced and professional Aquatic Facility Managers to manage and operate three (3) of Council’s aquatic facilities, including the day-to-day operations of the site and running of the pools for public use, community events, school events and other events as required.
- Brian Dorey OAM – Capricorn Coast Aquatic Centre, Matthew Flinders Drive, Cooee Bay, Yeppoon
- Marlborough Public Pool, Railway Street, Marlborough
- Emu Park Aquatic Centre (Don Ireland Swimming Complex), Pattison Street, Emu Park
This tender comprises of two (2) separable portions. Council reserves the right to accept a tenderer base on:
- Each part individually (Portion 1 only, Portion 2 only); or
- Combinations of both portions; or
- Not to award any or all portions.
The two (2) portions consist of the following:
- Separable Portion 1 – Brian Dorey OAM – Capricorn Coast Aquatic Centre & Marlborough Public Pool
- Separable Portion 2 – Emu Park Aquatic Centre (Don Ireland Swimming Complex)
The invitation includes two (2) portions whereby tenderers may submit an offer to provide services against one or both portions depending on their location, expertise and serviceability.
The three (3) aquatic facilities will have staggered commencement dates as listed in Part 2 – Technical Specifications – Clause 1.2 & 1.3.
In the tender stage, Managers can elect to manage and operate one or any combination of the aquatic facilities with the exception of the Capricorn Coast Aquatic Centre and Marlborough Public Pool which are offered as a joint package only.
