Tender Description

OVERVIEW

The Flinders Ranges Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified and experienced organisations/individuals to undertake a comprehensive brand and logo refresh. This project forms part of Council’s commitment to a contemporary, consistent and community-aligned identity that reflects the region’s character, values and long-term aspirations. The refresh is guided by the Community Plan 2023-2033 and informed by recent community consultation.

Key Directions

Maintain continuity - The current logo is almost 30 years old, and the refreshed identity should remain recognisable and connected to the current brand, ensuring ongoing community recognition and trust.

Colour Use - The current colours are to be retained with blue the primary colour. Ochre tones should draw respectively from the region’s natural landscape.

Respect for Aboriginal Communities - The brand should respectively acknowledge and represent the Nukunu and Adnyamathanha communities, matches with appropriate cultural guidance.

Design Simplification - The logo should be clear, versatile and not over-burdened with motifs. It should embody the essence of the region without attempting to represent every feature.

Symbolic Opportunities - There is relevance to exploring the yellow-footed rock wallaby as a symbolic element connected to place, the environment, heritage and identity.

Scope and Intent

This refresh extends beyond a logo update. It seeks to create an identity that is:

  • Modern and consistent across all Council platforms
  • Authentic to the region and its communities
  • Strong in advocacy and stakeholder engagement
  • Clear, meaningful and credible to residents, visitors, investors and government
