The Albury Waste Management Centre (AWMC) is owned and operated by Albury City Council (ACC). The AWMC is one of Australias most advanced waste disposal facilities and is the regions major waste disposal facility. The AWMC offers a range of recycling, resource recovery and waste management initiatives. It services a catchment population of approximately 180,000 people from the local government areas of Albury, Wodonga, Federation Council, Indigo Shire Council, Greater Hume Council and Towong Shire.
Albury City Council are seeking submissions from suitably qualified contractors for the collection and cartage, and re-use, re-sale or re-purposing of two waste streams, which can be treated separately or combined:
- Mulched organic garden waste material,
- Crushed unpainted gypsum plasterboard material.
Both products are separate and contain low levels of contamination as the feedstock is separated from other materials such as construction timber prior to mulching and crushing.
