Road Reseal Program

The overall project objective is to implement the best value improvements to the road and street infrastructure managed by the Tasman Council.

The specific project objectives for the proposed works under this Contract are as follows:-

• To improve the life expectancy and surface roughness of road assets,
• Improve the amenity of Towns and the municipality by providing assets exhibiting good workmanship and appropriate life expectancy,
• To deliver the project in compliance with legislated Health and Safety requirements,
• To deliver the project efficiently, professionally and cost effectively and within the agreed timeframe, and
• To engage all stakeholders in a value-for-money approach to service delivery.

Typical sealed road management involves annual resealing and major rectifying activities. Council expects to provide this tender in pursuit of improved value and efficiency in this year's rectification of the road assets.

The identified areas for improvement are rural sealed single/two lane carriageways, generally with a significant level of surface cracking and deformation. Few locations are to be upgraded from unsealed to sealed surfaces.
