Tender Description
The Shire of Carnarvon seeks the services of a suitably experienced contractor to undertake the fabrication, construction and installation of two shelters (the Tramway Shelter and the Healing Shelter) and associated infrastructure along the Tramway Walk Trail, Carnarvon.
Technical specification and designs have been completed and are included in attached documentation.
The Carnarvon Tramway Shelter Scope of works includes a new open-air tramway shelter comprising a simple steel frame with lightweight roof, integrated heritage-style signage panels, and paved hardstand set flush to the existing tracks; provision of recycled timber seating (stringer and buffer-stop benches) as detailed, low limestone edge retaining, compacted fill and minor regrading; local stabilisation treatments to batters; protection and conservation of the existing state-listed tramlines and nearby signage; isolated concrete footings and associated coordination with structural/civil inputs; temporary public safety measures; and delivery to current codes with final clean, certifications and handover.
The Carnarvon Healing Shelter Scope of Works includes protecting the existing memorial statue; removing the rope fence and making good; modest regrading and a new resin-set gravel mound to the existing statue's base; new low limestone retaining walls with integrated seating; a circular 'Healing Circle' contrasting concrete paved area with discreet drainage via a new concrete paved ramp and trench grate; a simple steel-framed, lightweight roof shelter with coastal-grade finishes; and associated footings, surface drainage, dune stabilisation and planting.
