Tender Description
This Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement of offsite electricity supply for up to 10% of its national electricity volume (circa 37.5 GWh based on FY24/25 volumes). This initiative is part of a hybrid procurement strategy, with the remaining 90% of electricity supply being secured through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s All-of-Government (AoG) Electricity Panel.
The solution will support Health NZ achieve these outcomes:
• provide longer term price certainty
• reduce exposure to market volatility
• ideally support access to renewable energy supply
The contract will cover selected Installation Control Points (ICPs) across multiple regions.
This procurement is a pilot and a unique opportunity to partner with Health NZ as it builds maturity in non traditional energy contracting and to inform future strategic energy supply decisions.
Suppliers will contribute to a national initiative that supports energy resilience, public health outcomes, and energy innovation. The selected provider(s) will play a key role in delivering renewable electricity to critical health infrastructure across New Zealand.
