Tender Description

Silverchain is reviewing its current lone worker safety arrangements and seeks information from the market on solutions that can enhance the safety and wellbeing of its lone workers who provide community based in-home health and aged care services.

Background and Context

Silverchain currently provide duress alarms to identified frontline and community-based employees across many parts of the organisation, as part of its commitment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff. The existing solution includes a mobile application, which can be paired with a Bluetooth-enabled card, is monitored by an external AAA security provider to deliver 24/7 emergency response capability.

In addition to the mobile platform, a Bluetooth enabled card device is issued to relevant employees to enable discrete rapid emergency alerting. All staff are equipped with a Silverchain-supplied Android mobile phone, which supports the current duress system and other associated safety applications.

Since the original rollout of the duress App and blue tooth enabled card, the technology landscape for lone worker safety has evolved significantly. New and emerging solutions now offer enhanced functionality, greater usability, and increased integration potential with organisational systems such as workforce management, incident reporting, and analytics platforms.

Silverchain is therefore undertaking a review of the current approach to:

• Identify innovative, reliable, and cost-effective technologies that strengthen the safety of employees working alone or in isolated environments

• Assess how modern solutions can best mitigate lone work risks while maintaining a positive user experience

• Determine a sustainable and scalable approach that aligns with Silverchain’s operational, technological, and financial objectives
