Tender Description

Background

The Public Transport Authority’s (PTA), Network & Infrastructure (N&I), Civil Branch requires the replacement of 31 crib retaining walls as the walls are progressively deteriorating. The crib retaining walls have deteriorated and are at risk of collapsing. They support trackside embankments which hold signalling and communications assets. The walls are located on the Fremantle, Midland, Yanchep and Armadale train lines.

Scope of Works / Principals Project Requirements.

The scope of this project is to design and construct the replacement retaining walls for 31 existing crib retaining walls and reduce the frequency of inspections and maintenance works in the long term.

The design and construction are to comply with relevant PTA requirements and specifications, including Engineering Mangement for Projcect (EM4P) requirements. The designs provided will be used as the basis for the detailed design for each of the crib retaining walls, while complying with relevant PTA requirements and specifications.

The overall project scope includes but is not limited to:

• Detailed and IFC Design of 31 new retaining walls based on the reference design;

• Site Investigation including pot-holing and pre-works underground survey;

• Dilapidation survey prior to commencement of the works;

• Environmental survey including for potential asbestos, hydrocarbon contamination, and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage (ACH) discovery;

• Removal and reinstatement of boundary fences, if applicable (as per PTA specification: 8880-450-069);

• Vegetation removal and obtaining Environmental Approvals prior to removal;

• Required temporary works including design of temporary works;

• Relocation and reinstatement of any services as necessary;

• Removal of existing non-compliant handrails and installation of new handrails;

• Installation of two staircases for provision of safe access to location cases (F17.190km & F17.468km);

• Conducting the works without disruption to normal train services;

• Compliance to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements; and

• Provision of As-Constructed drawings upon completion of the works.

Site Visit

A site visit will be held at 116 West Parade, Perth on 5 Nov, 2025 1:30 PM.

Briefing

A briefing session will be held for all potential Respondents at the Public Transport Centre, 116 West Parade, Perth on Wednesday 05 November 2025 at 1.30 pm.
