Arundel Road and Drainage Construction

Scope

Road and drainage upgrade from Knees Road to Euston Avenue. The project aims to upgrade road open drains and improve overall drainage. Underground drainage and kerb and channel are also proposed here.

Works are to be per drawing set and is to be from the intersection of Knees Road & to the intersection of Euston Road, which includes kerb and channel works and drainage works.

Background

A number of concerns have been raised within Dalry Avenue in relation to Street Drainage. The properties within this area are on septic systems. Therefore, when hard surfaces generate storm water and the properties have no legal point of discharge to drain to, the storm water passes overland. As the land is always saturated it also causes health related concerns and nuisance flooding within the area.

Previously construction of an easement drain is being carried out within the rear of 2 - 24 Euston Avenue to provide these properties with a legal point of discharge. This drainage connects up into pit located within Dalry Avenue.

The cut off time for questions is three (3) business days prior to the closing date.

The lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted and any action or contact that may be considered as an attempt to influence a decision of Councillors or Staff shall disqualify the relevant tenderer.
