Design and testing of knowledge building program for data, data systems and Aboriginal Data Sovereignty and Governance.
Project goals
Develop and test a knowledge building program based on Aboriginal cultural and adult learning principles ready for delivery across NSW Government and to Aboriginal Community representatives as part of the implementation of the Closing the Gap Priority Reform 4 (PR4) Work Program in NSW.
Scope
This project will design and test a knowledge building program informed by evidence collected from past engagements with Aboriginal Communities, NSW CAPO and NSW Government agencies. This evidence will be used to identify knowledge gaps, particularly around data literacy and the understanding of Aboriginal Data Sovereignty and Governance for public servants and NSW Aboriginal Communities. The knowledge building program will include the development of resources and learning modules that encourage learning by doing, through practical interaction with data and opportunities for communal knowledge building.
It will be structured to include:
- Community facing modules for Aboriginal Community members;
- Government facing modules for public servants; and
- Shared modules bringing both groups together to apply knowledge in practice and build a common understanding.
