Tender Description
Project goals
To support the continued development of Task Eternal, the inaugural exhibition at Powerhouse Parramatta, and its related publications, programming, workshops, and commissions, Powerhouse will appoint a suitably qualified Exhibition Adviser. The Adviser will work closely with Powerhouse Curatorial, Programs, Publications, Design, Executive teams, and external stakeholders.
The Adviser will help shape the project’s conceptual framework, refining themes, questions, and references that guide direction. They will identify and invite commissioned artists, support development of new works, and ensure alignment with project aims. Acting as an intermediary between artists, curators, architects, and executives, the Adviser will translate creative intent into institutional requirements. They will also structure interpretive materials for the exhibition and publication in collaboration with Editorial and Curatorial teams, ensuring clarity and coherence of voice.
As contributing editor on the publication, the Adviser will commission and edit texts, contribute original writing, and advise on design and material decisions. They will also support development of public programming, workshops, and talks that extend the exhibition’s scope. Finally, the Adviser will act as an advocate for Powerhouse, positioning Task Eternal within broader cultural and critical contexts to ensure its resonance beyond Parramatta.
