Tender Description
Recent condition assessments have identified significant end of life roofing replacement works at West Park School. In some areas proposed solutions including re-pitching roofs to develop better long term durable outcomes. The work is across four blocks at the school and will include spouting and downpipes.
- On Block A the metal roofing and spouting over the hall and classrooms is to be replaced. The flat membrane roofs are to be reconstructed utilising a warm roof solution which will significantly improve the rainwater collection and disposal in these areas.
- On Block B areas of translucent roofing is to be replaced with metal, new ceilings will be formed below including for insulation.
- On Block C metal roofing and spouting is to be replaced.
- On Block D the metal roof fixings are to be replaced, and translucent roofing replaced with a trafficable type. The works will include all scaffold and access systems along with plastic wrap over the area of Block A roof reconstruction.
The works will be carried out in a phased approach utilising school holidays for the simple replacement stages to minimise the need for decanting from affected spaces.
Asbestos removals will be undertaken during school holiday periods.
