Kangaroo Gully Bush Fire Brigade Upgrade

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced building providers to construct extensions and internal upgrades to the Kangaroo Gully Bush Fire Brigade premises on Claret Ash Rise in Kangaroo Gully near the town of Bridgetown in the South West WA. 

SCOPE OF WORK

The project is to extend the existing vehicle storage area, enclose the southern verandah and carry out internal modifications as described below and detailed

Site works & demolition

a) Undertake any required earthworks and construct compacted sand pads in accordance with the certified engineering drawings for the extension areas.

b) Undertake all demolition works as noted on the drawings.

Extension to Vehicle Storage Area

a) Construct 150mm reinforced concrete slab in line with certified engineering drawings.

b) Supply and install colorbond wall and roof sheeting to match the existing shed.

c) Supply and install new roof insulation and sisalation for the extended area.

d) Supply and install two new 870mm doors to the new Washroom and Training Room.

e) Supply and install new doors to the Chair store in the Training Room.

f) Upgrade existing lighting with new LED lights and install new LED lighting throughout the extended vehicle storage area to achieve average lighting levels of 160 lux.

g) Relocate the existing roller doors to the front of the extended vehicle storage area.

Enclose southern verandah to create new Locker Room

a) Remove existing paving and construct new 100mm reinforced concrete slab with thickened edges to Engineer’s specification.

b) Supply and install new vinyl floor finish.

c) Supply and install new wall and roof colorbond sheeting to match existing.

d) Install new 870mm opening from the Washroom to the Locker room.

e) Install Framework

f) Install wall and ceiling insulation

g) Install internal walls and ceilings including painting

h) Relocate existing lockers to new Locker Room

Create new Washdown Room

a) Install plumbing works to support a commercial washing machine, three new sinks and a floor drain.

b) Supply and install three new laundry troughs with hardware and a LG 12kg Front Load washing machine.

c) Install new floor drain.

d) Install a new 870mm external type door from the Lockers room.

e) Supply and install new LED lights and double GPO for washing machine, heights to code.

Create new Training Room

a) Install new internal walls and ceiling including painting.

b) Supply and install new vinyl floor finish.

c) Supply and install a new 1.5m x 900mm whiteboard.

d) Supply and install new LED lights and double GPOs x 2.

Create new Chemical Store (1.7m2) to replace existing

a) Install new internal walls and ceiling including painting.

b) Supply and install new vinyl floor finish.

c) Install new vents, heights to code

Electrical Works

a) As described above

Signage

a) Fire Station sign over main entrance to be relocated on the new front wall of the Fire Station.

b) New Chemical store sign required to code.

NOTE: In the event of a fire during the construction period, works may need to be suspended to allow brigade members access to the building until such time as the fire is controlled and Brigade’s services are no longer required.
