Project goals

Powerhouse Publishing develops and delivers a diverse and ambitious program of publications that reflect the museum’s curatorial, research, collection and program priorities. The 2025/26 publishing slate is focused on the development and delivery of major exhibition publications to support the opening of Powerhouse Parramatta in late 2026. To finalise publications for release in 2026, Powerhouse is seeking responses from suitably qualified suppliers to provide picture research support across the Powerhouse Publishing program.

Subject to the availability of the supplier, the Powerhouse envisages the successful supplier will be engaged for 4 months from Mid-November through to the end of March 2026.

Scope

The scope of services includes:

  •  Researching and sourcing high-quality images to support exhibition publications and content.
  •  Liaising with artists, institutions, archives, and image libraries to obtain image assets suitable for reproduction in Powerhouse publications.
  •  Assist with managing rights clearances, permissions, and licensing as required.
  •  Preparing and maintaining accurate image metadata, credit lines, and captions for inclusion in publication.
  •  Coordinating image delivery schedules to align with editorial and design production timelines.
  •  Ensuring all images meet required technical specifications and reproduction standards.

  •  Provision of a CV or a biography outlining relevant picture research experience. The provision of work samples or industry references is optional.
  •  Outline of your proposed approach to picture research, including process for ensuring rights and permissions are secured and images can be used for publication purposes.
  •  Provide a weekly fee for the services outlined within this brief (including superannuation if applicable).
  •  In addition to the lump sum fee, respondents are to provide a day rate (including superannuation if applicable).
