Trove Stories Project continuation

The National Library of Australia (the Library) operates Trove to provide discovery and access to cultural collections in both physical and digital formats. Millions of Trove end users visit and engage with these collections every month.

To build a stronger relationship with Trove audiences, the Library intends to conduct a research and engagement activity to understand how people are using Trove. Trove is built using a Drupal content management system.

Through four deliverables, the original activity was designed to achieve the aims below:

• Establish a research activity to understand how the broader Trove community is using Trove (accessible to all Trove users regardless of location);
• Devise an interactive method of displaying the research results on Trove and;
• Promote engagement with the activity

To achieve the original aims in the complex and customised nature of the Trove CMS environment, the additional aims below are now also required:

• environment setup and review
• develop a Trove Stories module including interface customisation, accessibility and responsiveness; and
• deployment, testing and documentation of a Trove Stories module
