New Zealand Representative of the ASEAN New Zealand Vision Fund - Jakarta

The New Zealand Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), is partnering with the ASEAN Secretariat to establish and manage the ASEAN New Zealand Vision Fund. This Fund will support impactful development initiatives across ASEAN in areas of shared priority, including governance and security, economic cooperation, and climate change and environment.

MFAT is seeking to recruit and contract a New Zealand Representative to lead and coordinate the Fund’s establishment, governance, and ongoing management. This senior role will ensure the Fund delivers high-quality initiatives that strengthen ASEAN–New Zealand cooperation and contribute to inclusive, sustainable development outcomes.

This contractor position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia, within the ASEAN Secretariat, and will require regional travel to ASEAN Member States. There may be MFAT staff who are suitable for this contractor role, and we welcome applications from all interested qualified candidates.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in strengthening New Zealand’s engagement with ASEAN at a time of deepening regional cooperation. You will contribute to initiatives that support peace, prosperity, people, and the planet across Southeast Asia, while representing New Zealand’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development.
