Heritage Advisor

Mosman Council (Council) is seeking to engage the services of a qualified and experienced Heritage Advisor for a five (5) year term to provide expert advice on heritage matters within the Local Government Area (LGA). The successful consultant will assist Council in assessing development applications and heritage exemptions, represent Council in the NSW Land and Environment Court, provide strategic and statutory advice on heritage issues, and contribute to the conservation and promotion of the area's cultural and historical heritage.

Council is committed to protecting its rich and diverse heritage assets. These include a: 

• range of heritage-listed buildings, precincts, landscapes, and archaeological sites. As part of its statutory responsibilities under relevant heritage legislation and local planning
• instruments, the Council requires specialist heritage advice to guide decision-making
• processes and ensure appropriate outcomes for heritage conservation.
