Tender Description

The Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) invites suitably qualified and experienced providers to develop a comprehensive workforce forecasting model and report that captures the current state of the General Practitioner (GP) workforce and projects future workforce supply and demand over a 10-year horizon in the CESPHN region. This model will support strategic planning, policy development and resource allocation to ensure sustainable and equitable access to primary care services across the region.

Central and Eastern Sydney PHN (CESPHN) collaborates with the Commonwealth Department of Health, Disability and Aged Care, and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) to address workforce optimisation and identify service gaps across the region. In support of this strategic work, CESPHN seeks to commission a workforce forecasting model and report to guide future planning and ensure a sustainable and responsive GP workforce.

The purpose of this tender is to develop a robust and data-driven GP workforce forecasting model and accompanying report. The model will provide insights into current workforce capacity, future supply and demand, and integration opportunities to support long-term workforce planning and service delivery.

The key objectives of the model and accompanying report should include establishing a baseline of the current general practitioner (GP) workforce within the CESPHN region, forecasting future GP workforce supply over the next decade, and estimating future demand. This involves conducting demand forecasting, identifying potential gaps and risks in workforce capacity, performing scenario modelling, and exploring opportunities for integrating relevant data sources to support strategic planning and decision-making.
