Tender Description
Expression of Interest
Coffs Harbour is a key regional settlement location for newly arrived refugees and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations in Australia. Refugees settling in this area often face significant challenges in accessing and transitioning to mainstream health services, particularly allied health services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy. These challenges include a shortage of allied health providers in the region, cultural and language barriers, financial constraints, and the complexity of navigating the Australian healthcare system.
Expanding access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and other appropriate allied health supports, delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally safe manner, is essential to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for refugee and CALD communities.
This initiative will fund and support the delivery of culturally appropriate allied health services, capacity building for providers, and innovative, sustainable care models designed specifically for regional refugee communities.
Through collaboration and community engagement, the program aims to reduce health disparities, improve functional outcomes, and strengthen local health systems’ ability to meet the complex needs of refugees and multicultural populations in Coffs Harbour and surrounding areas.
