National-Scale Flood Model and Integration for a National Flood Map
Tender ID: 597568
Tender Details
Tender Description
The New Zealand Government has recently announced the development of New Zealand’s first National Flood Map. It will be a major step forward in improving public access to flood risk information. The map will provide all New Zealanders with clear, consistent information on where fluvial (river), pluvial (rainfall), and coastal flooding is likely to occur, both now and in a future with climate change.
This RFI seeks market insights to inform the Ministry’s approach to delivering the National Flood Map, including:
a) national-scale flood modelling products; and/or
b) solutions for the integration of national, regional and local-scale flood data to provide a trusted, unified source of information for flood risk.
While the Ministry has been conducting secondary research on the available options in the marketplace, this RFI represents an opportunity to learn in greater detail about the capabilities of different solutions available from organisations with experience in natural hazard datasets, particularly fluvial, pluvial, and coastal flood modelling. The result of the research conducted through this RFI will support the Ministry’s next steps.
