Request for Quotation for Cleaning and Restoration Works of the World's Largest Solar System Drive

Clean, restore and minor repair works on selected planetary billboards and 3D planetary models that form part of the World's Largest Solar System Drive (WLSSD).

Scope of Works

The Contractor shall carry out cleaning, restoration, and minor repair works on selected planetary billboards and 3D planetary models that form part of the World's Largest Solar System Drive (WLSSD).

1.Preliminary Works

• Inspect nominated sites to assess condition and confirm access requirements.
•  Provide a brief condition report and recommended treatments to Project Manager for review before commencing works
•  Establish safety measures including warning signage and exclusion zones as needed

2. Cleaning

•  Remove dirt, mould, graffiti, stains, and general weathering from billboard panels, supports, and planetary models.
• Use non-abrasive, environmentally safe cleaning products suitable for outdoor use. Ensure runoff is minimal and does not cause environmental harm.

3. Restoration of Billboards

• Repaint or resurface faded or damaged areas using UV-stable, weather-resistant coatings
• Repair or replace damaged or warped panels, frames, or fastenings where required.
• Apply protective coatings such as anti-graffiti sealants.
• Reinstate or refresh interpretive graphics where necessary, with Council's approval.

4. Restoration of Planetary Models

• Repaint planetary spheres with colour matching to original specifications.
• Repair surface chips, cracks, or minor damage using appropriate filler and sealants.
• Apply protective coatings to improve durability and resistance to future damage.
• Confirm that all models are securely fixed and stable.

5. Reporting and Documentation

•  Provide photographic evidence (before and after works) for each site.
• Submit a brief completion report to Project Manager summarising works undertaken, materials used, and any issues identified.

6. Handover and Completion

•  Ensure all sites are left safe, clean, and free from waste or debris.
•  Remove all temporary signage, barriers, and equipment at completion.
•  Provide a minimum 12-month defects liability on all workmanship and materials.
