Description of works
The contract work covers installation of 2 new culverts plus raising and widening of the road to improve flood resilience.
Lachlan Shire Council will provide access to a nearby gravel pit for the works. The Contractor will not be charged for gravel used in the works but must arrange loading and carting.
Lachlan Shire Council expects the work will be completed in January to March 2026.
Scope of Works
The works to be constructed under this contract include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Installation of single cell and triple cell 750mm pipe culverts (total 2) with headwalls, which have been sourced by Council. Pipes and headwalls are stored at the Showground, approximately 5km from the work site. Place rock scour protection at headwalls as indicated on supplied sketch
2. Widen and raise the road in two sections, being 525 and 545 metres length (total 1070m) and typically 10 metres formation width. A wider section is to be built at the intersection of Lake Cargelligo Rd and Nilssons Lane. Tenderers are to propose a suitable quality management methodology that considers the locally sourced gravel that will be used on the project (see Preliminaries section 4.1)
3. Approximately 440 metres of the road are to be offset by up to 2.1 metres to the south
4. Optionally, lime stabilization of the works to a depth of 200mm
5. Bitumen seal over the new works
6. Line marking including centre line plus 2 fog lines along the new works (1070 metres)
7. Installation of guideposts along the works
