Trident Stopbank Culvert Replacement

Bay of Plenty Regional Council, in partnership with Whakatāne District Council, invites tenders for the replacement of two stormwater culverts located beneath Arawa Road and its associated stopbank in Whakatāne.

The project involves the replacement of two stormwater culverts beneath Arawa Road and its stopbank in Whakatāne. The gravity culvert has been identified as structurally compromised, and the falling main is being replaced due to its age and proximity. The works will require careful coordination around existing infrastructure and services, and must maintain current hydraulic performance.

Physical Works Include:

-Location and protection of existing services, including an 11 kV power cable

-Removal of the existing DN900 gravity culvert and DN450 falling main

-Installation of a new 1,050 mm ID polyethylene gravity culvert

-Installation of a new 900 mm OD PE100 SDR17 polyethylene falling main

-Construction of new wingwalls and associated structures

-Site clearance and preparation, including access management

-Restoration of affected areas upon completion of works
