Main Building Contractor for Blocks B, C, E, D Roofing Replacements at Taupo Intermediate School

Taupo Intermediate School Board of Trustees is seeking a Main Building Contractor to submit a Tender for one of the school's 5YA project - B, C, E, D Roofing Replacements.

This project is one of Taupo Intermediate School’s 5YA projects. As part of the school’s 10YPP, a Specialist was engaged to undertake a roofing assessment of all buildings. It was identified that Blocks B, C and E require removal of old clerestory windows and re-roof accordingly.

On the 26th of June 2025, the Project Manager (PM) received the Condition Assessment Report arranged by the school’s MOE Property Advisor and done by MOE Construction Advisor. In the report, Block D also has old clerestory windows like the other blocks involved in this project. As a result, MOE highly recommends all these clerestory windows removed and roof and ridge cap replaced.

The Contract Works required are:

1. Block B –

(a) Relocate outdoor heat pump units from roof to the ground and cage them.

(b) Remove old clerestory windows and re-roof accordingly as per Council-approved drawings.

2. Block C –

(a) Remove old clerestory windows and re-roof accordingly as per Council-approved drawings.

(b) Replace gutters with new.

3. Block D –

(a) Remove old clerestory windows and re-roof accordingly as per Council-approved drawings.

(b) Replace ridge cap.

4. Block E –

(a) Remove old clerestory windows and re-roof accordingly as per Council-approved drawings.

With the extent of the works, it is ideal to schedule the contract works on December 2025-January 2026 holidays.
