HNECC Primary Health Network, in partnership with UNE Partnerships, is offering funded places in the nationally recognised Certificate IV in Medical Practice Assisting (HLT47715).
This course is designed for administrative and reception staff in primary care who are eager to broaden their skills, step into clinical support roles, and gain a valuable qualification. Medical Practice Assistants are trained to manage front desk and administrative tasks, while also supporting a wide range of treatment room procedures.

Who is this for?
Health receptionists or administrators working in medical settings who want to expand into clinical roles. Graduates will perform delegated clinical tasks under indirect supervision.
Course Delivery
The course includes 23 units of competency over 18 - 24 months duration delivered in 3 distinct study terms. Nationally accredited Austalian Qualifications Framework level 4.
Study Commitment
Students will undertake 2 days of First Aid Training (face to face) and 3 days of Clinical Training (face to face) and expect to commit 4-6 Hours per week of self-directed study. Additional course information can be found here.
Funding
Government funding along with this scholarship provided by the Hunter New England Central Coast PHN is being offered to heavily subsidise the course. If successful, students will need to pay up to $500.00 towards the Certificate IV in Medical Practice Assisting (MPA). Terms and Conditions apply.
Commencement
Successful applicants will need to be enrolled by Friday the 14th of November 2025, for commencement on Monday 17th of November 2025.
