Tender Description
Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC) require a bushfire consultant to provide bushfire consultancy services at West Wallsend and Mt Penang for a 3-year duration.
Project goals
Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC) require a bushfire consultant to provide consultancy services over a 3-year period for mitigating the risk of bushfires occurring on lands under control by HCCDC (West Wallsend, Mt Penang Parklands and Cockle Creek/Munibung Hill), in accordance with the Rural Fires Act 1997 (section 63).
Scope
Services include, but are not limited to:
• Review/update HCCDC's existing Bushfire Management Plans
• Attendance of the Bushfire Management Committee (BFMC) meetings
• Emergency services liaison in the event of a major bushfire(s) occurring on HCCDC bushlands
• Determine the next scheduled hazard reduction burn recommended in the current Bushfire Management Plan, liaison with RFS for necessary approvals, prepare burn plan, supervision and implementation of preparation works, advise HCCDC on bushfire mitigation works
• Quarterly inspections and review of Asset Protection Zone (APZ) management
• Completion of hazard reduction burns at the West Wallsend and Mount Penang Parklands bushlands including inspect and rework of control lines, liaison with FRNSW and supervision during reduction burn; and
• Provide ad-hoc bushfire related advice as required.
