ROPS Slashing

McKinlay Shire Council (‘Council’) invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for selection as a pre-qualified supplier of slashing services.

Council intends for the appointment as a pre-qualified supplier to commence on 1.12.2025 and end on 30.11.2027 (‘Term’). The Principal may extend the Term, at its discretion, for a further 12 months by giving written notice to successful Tenderers. The Principal may also, during the Term, conduct a further procurement process to appoint other suppliers.

McKinlay Shire covers 40,728 km2 including four townships – Nelia to the East, McKinlay and Kynuna to the South and Julia Creek as the central town. The Shire is bounded by the Shires of Richmond, Cloncurry, Carpentaria, Winton and Croydon. Julia Creek is the main township and is located approximately 650 kilometres west of Townsville and 250 kilometres east of Mount Isa

The Principal provides a range of asset maintenance services on the Principal’s existing infrastructure assets that require the use of slashing on areas such as road sides, reserves, drainage lines and parks. Pre-qualified suppliers will be used to supplement the Principal’s own equipment and resources.

Specific requirements will be provided on a project-by-project basis identified in the relevant Services Engagement Order at the time of engagement.

Successful Tenderers may make a written request to the Principal to add, replace or change their tendered plant and equipment during the Term.
